Hey! I’m working on a manuscript using Scrivener 3.1.2 on a Windows 11 machine, as well as the latest version of the Scrivener app on my iPhone (iOS 16).
I like to set a deadline in the project target settings, so that I know what my daily wordcount needs to be to meet the deadline. This works great as long as I only open my project on my Windows computer. But, as soon as I open and make edits to the project on my iPhone, the deadline is removed when I open it on my computer.
I recently changed computers, and this happened on both computers, including with a fresh install of Scrivener on my my new computer running Windows 11.
I’m thinking this is a bug. Anyone else getting this? Would be great if the support/dev team could look into it.
Yeah, this is a known bug. Unfortunately it slipped off the radar as it really should have been fixed before NaNo this year. I’ve elevated its priority so that it gets fixed sooner than later, but you’ll have to work around it for now. Sorry about that!
What it should be doing is merging your updated statistics into the project when you sync it from iOS, but instead it is replacing the whole statistics setup. So any feature the iOS version does not support gets lost.
So I have a problem that has cropped up in the last few days. As I’ve been working on my 2022 Nano in Scrivener, I’ve had several times where I have to fix the project targets. This seems to happen after I’ve used the iOS version of Scrivener and am reopening the project on my computer. The project targets are all screwed up. The target completion date, and session target word count will be completely missing, and I will have to reenable the options to calculate the daily word count goal from draft deadline. I don’t know what I had changed to cause this to happen and it was just sudden. The other thing that I noticed last night was that the session target isn’t resetting at midnight. All of this started in the last few days.
