Put More Space Under Header??

For the CreateSpace version of my latest book, I’m trying to save myself some bother by compiling to an RTF and uploading that RTF to CreateSpace.

The only problem I’m having right now is that I don’t have enough space under the heading:

I’ve altered the Page Padding, but that doesn’t seem to make any difference.

Is there any way to get some more space under that??

Thanks,

Al

Not sure if there’s another way to do this, but here’s one method:

Open the compile settings and click Formatting on the left pane. Put a tick in the “Title” checkbox next to the document level that you’re using (probably Level 1+). This should make the word “Title” appear in the bottom right pane, just above the “Lorem ipsum” text. Click “Title” and then click the Section Layout… button. Click in the Suffix box and hit the enter key to add a paragraph mark. Click OK and you should see some more space between “Title” and “Lorem ipsum.”

Hopefully that works.

Thanks, San.

I decided that I needed to do some “post-production” formatting in OpenOffice anyway, so I handled it there. Here’s my checklist for creating a print version:

  1. Compile to an ODT file from Scrivener (eliminate some front matter, etc)
  2. Open the ODT file with OpenOffice
  3. Copy All
  4. Choose File/New Templates and Documents
  5. Choose the Contact Us template
  6. Paste
  7. Save the odt file with “modified” appended to the filename
  8. Fix the header (new text, eliminate from first title page, remove from chapter pages??)
    See forum.openoffice.org/en/forum/v … =7&t=76224
  9. Fix block text (e.g. newspaper text)
  10. Add two page breaks at the start
  11. Remove hypertext links
  12. Fix formatting of back matter
  13. Save
  14. Export to PDF and upload to CS
