Question about syncing Scrivener for iOS and Scrivener 3 for Mac

I had Scrivener 1 for Windows way back when…and then got Scrivener for my iPhone and was able to sync the two programs well enough. But that was years ago. Fast forward to today, and I’ve recently purchased and started using Scrivener 3 for Mac for a new project. I’d love to sync it to my Scrivener for iOS through my dropbox but realized that I currently have 2 old projects on my iPhone Scrivener app. If I set up Scrivener 3 to sync to my iOS version, will this mean that ALL of my projects (the 2 old projects I have on my iPhone, and the new project I have on my Mac using Scrivener 3) will now be available on both my iPhone and my Mac?

My ultimate fear is that I’ll hit sync and either my new project will be deleted and my 2 older projects will show up on my Mac, or my 2 old projects will be deleted off my iPhone and I’ll only have the new project left.

Yes, if you configure Dropbox sync correctly, both the existing iPhone projects and any new projects you create should be available on both the phone and the Mac. Instructions are here:

Extra backups are never bad, though, and it wouldn’t be a bad idea to backup the iPhone projects before you start. Here’s how:

As for the Mac project, Scrivener’s automatic backups will cover it, but I encourage all Mac users to set up a Time Machine volume as well.
