red squiggly underline is not showing when spell check is on

Hi! I am using Scrivener 2.7 on OS X El Capitan. I have “check spelling while typing” function on, but the red squiggly underline is not showing. When I click on a mis-spelled word, however, the suggested corrections are shown. How can I have the red squiggly underline back?

I’m seeing this too. If you’re like me and can have the project open and the app running for days then try a quit/restart of Scrivener. That gets them back for me.

I was seeing this problem regularly on 10.11.4, and it typically required a system restart to fix, but after upgrading to 10.11.5 a few weeks ago I haven’t seen it since.

Thanks for the reply. Yes, it needs a restart after being opened for days…
