Is there a way to refresh a Text file from the binder? I’m updating an existing file in my project, but so far, it seems that I have to shut down Scrivener and then launch it again to see the update. The internet said there was a refresh option (maybe only for the windows version), but I don’t see it on the Mac version. I know there’s a sync feature, but this isn’t an external folder, it’s for a file I update both in scrivener and outside of scrivener at the same time.
Technically, for things like that you’re supposed to use Sync with external folder.
There is no project refresh or document refresh as far as I know. (You are not supposed to need it.)
Not sure what you are doing, the way you are currently doing it is such a good idea, btw.
Are you editing a file that belongs to your project (belongs to Scrivener) elsewhere, or is this rather a file you’ve imported in your research folder or have as a project bookmark?
Ideally, if it is a file you want referenced in your project (not a file you need in the binder), you’d set it up as a project bookmark, and you’d edit it only in your other app. (This refreshes everytime you move back to the said file in the bookmarks list.)
Else, use Sync with external folder.
I think that as it is, you might very well be looking for trouble.
This is unsupported and entirely at your own risk. So no, there is no “refresh” function. Whatever internet source told you there was, was mistaken.
