Just release the damn thing already, I have a novel to work on!
On a more serious note, thanks for bringing it to life. This saves me having to carry two computers.
LOL⦠Iām checking in at least once a day, in hopes it will be early. And right now, having a terrible time getting any planning and plotting done because I want to do it in Scrivener!
Thanks. Iām afraid it wonāt be early, though, sorry - but the 25th is only a week away!
All the best,
Keith
Is it only a week away already? Wait, I havenāt combed through all my .rtfās yet!
Nah, jusā kiddānā. Bring it on A week before November sounds just about right
I am soooo ready I keep trying to write and thatās all I can thinkāScrivener is coming out and I want to put all my info in it rather than have to transfer it.
5 more days!
Sooooooo canāt wait for this any longer. The next 5 days are going to pass really slowly. I wished it would be released on Friday though, rather than next Monday, so that everyone has the weekend to play around with it.
Definitely hear you there. Monday weāre supposed to go out of town, and I generally work Tues-Fri.
Well, at least itās likely to be earlier in the day Monday for me, Iām guessing, since Iām west coast U.S.
One more day. Just one more day. bites his manuscript Iām going crazy here.
For years it seems I have looked longingly over the shoulders of MAC users and watched them use Scrivener. I vowed that one day I would break the PC habit and buy a MAC just so I could have Scrivener.
Now it seems that disappointment - and infernal cost checking of the latest MAC offering on the Apple website - can be put behind me. You have little idea of how happy this makes me.
But.
I need to know. What time? Iām in the UK. What time will this be released on the 25th?
A thousand thanks. I may not sleep tonight.
J.
I imagine it will be quite late in the day UK time - because Iām in the UK too and will be spending most of tomorrow getting everything ready before posting the link. Thereās still a lot to do and weāre working furiously (though a hangover on a Sunday ).
All the best,
Keith
Alright, thanks for the heads-up. Iāll be waiting furiously for it. Picture me on fire, thatās how excited Iāll be.
[wanders off to timeanddate.com to figure out what time it is on the west coast U.S. when itās midnight in the U.Kā¦]
Mmm. 4pm my time.
8pm there is noon my time, 5pm is 9am hereā¦
so I can be reasonably sure to get to play tomorrow night, and anything sooner is a bonus! lol
And just goes to show⦠Iāve been amazingly productive the last couple of days, doing a whole bunch of planning in txt so I have something to transfer in.
Iām anticipating this more then I have anything in years.

Assuming itās released by the end of the work day, from 5 to 6 pm, then on EST weāll have our download by lunchtime. Which, if this calculation is correct, gives me a few hours to play around with it and work on an article(s) that are due by the end of the day.
Sorry, what is this mythical āwork dayā of which you speak? I really canāt say - it would be nice to get it out for teatime, but if I miss that deadline then it will be after the kids are in bed. (Weāre a work-from-hope-cos-we-canāt-afford-an-office-type-bunchā¦) All I can say right now is that it will definitely be out tomorrow⦠sometime.
Best,
Keith
Hmm. I think those are some sleepy looking kids. Donāt you want to go to bed early tonight? Like, just after lunch?
ā¦and then stay there. Until reasonable hours tomorrow morning. Just this once?
Ok, I should have this in max. 24 hoursā¦
Argh! Itās the 25th and itās 2.49am here, so release it already!
Just joking, letting out some steam of itching impatience here.
I hope you guys are taking into consideration the fact that there are probably going to be hundreds of you trying to download it the moment the link is there ⦠Bandwidth? Download speeds? ⦠Those of you on dial-up not only wonāt have any finger-nails left, you wonāt have any fingers left to type with!
Iām really looking forward to Scrivener v2 for the Mac, but for that reason Iām going to hold myself in patience for a day or two to let the feeding-frenzy die down.
Scrivener is not just for a day, itās for a life, so waiting another day or so is no big deal. Mind you, of course, you poor Windows users dont have v. 1.54 to use in the meantime, so your extremes of anticipation are understandable.

We already use Amazonās S3 to distribute the main DMG, so the traffic hit will be mostly on the HTML pages not the binary downloads. I donāt think we are going to be crashing Amazon AWS any time soon.
