Remove hanging indent in Scrivener 3

I was making a bullet list in something I’m editing and when I went to change the following paragraph, it’s now a hanging indent. How do I get rid of the nasty thing?
I’ve searched, but the only instructions I can find refer to a paintbrush icon in editing mode. I can’t see how to enter editing mode, and I can’t see any paintbrush. Help!

There’s a few ways to do it.

If your default paragraph style (No Style) doesn’t have a hanging indent, then cmd-opt-0 should remove it. That’s what I’d do.

Otherwise you can try Format > Paragraph > Increase/Decrease Indents > Decrease hanging indent. There’s no shortcut by default for that one, I think (not on my Mac, so can’t check…), but you can add it yourself if you think it’s necessary.

Or you could open Format > Paragraph > Tabs and Indents and set ‘Left:’ to 0.0.

Or you could reset the list to ‘None’ – it’s probably confused and thinks it’s still in a list of some sort.

Finally, you can drag the hanging indent icon in the ruler, but that’s fiddly and I avoid it usually.

Any or all of those should work, but sometimes lists get confused (Apple’s list / bullets functionality is notoriously flaky and that’s what Scrivener uses AFAIK).

HTH.

Thanks very much - that did it (the Format/Paragraph/None one). Now to find how to save a project as a template in Scrivener 3…Ah, found it… rather than being in the Save As dialogue, it’s actually a separate item in the File menu. D’oh!

Thank you very much for your great help.
