Request advice regarding Scrivener 3 update for Windows

Hi,

I am looking to buy Scrivener for Windows and find that Scrivener 3 is on its way. I also happened to read that Scrivener 3 will be available for free if I buy Scrivener 1 now. I just wanted someone who is aware to please confirm my understanding and please advice me. Should I buy Scrivener 1 for Windows now or should I wait for Scrivener 3 to be released? I have downloaded the trial version today and plan to trial run it now.

Would appreciate if anyone could please advise.

If you’re happy with the trial version (which is exactly the same as the licensed version once you enter a license number), then buy it. Version 3 will indeed be a free upgrade for you:

Is there an estimated time frame for the release of version 3 for windows?
