Resaving document for new version of edits

How do I save a document and rename it, to write a new edited version?

In the Binder, right-click on the document and click “Duplicate.” To rename the duplicate document, double-click on it in the Binder, rename it, and click away.

Also, here’s another approach. Rather than duplicate and rename the document, you could make a Snapshot of the document and make the edits. T̶h̶i̶s̶ ̶w̶o̶n̶’̶t̶ ̶r̶e̶n̶a̶m̶e̶ ̶i̶t̶,̶ ̶b̶u̶t̶ It allows you to see, and roll back to, prior versions via the Snapshots inspector window. Plus, you can compare versions if that’s ever helpful.

Note: I’ve updated my original post. A snapshot can indeed be renamed, as @GoalieDad points out below.

You can also add a name to the snapshot such as John’s version, Alternate 1, etc so the name indicates what you were trying to do with the rewrite.

That’s true. In my setup, I have a Stream Deck button “Snapshot & Name” that makes the snapshot and lets me write the name. I rarely use it, TBH, but it’s good to have it just the same.

I am envious of your setup, but being married, I cannot command that much dedicated space, given my model trains claim the basement. I also lack any musical talents.

I’m married, too. My home studio is the only space I have any say-so in, so I guard it jealously. I’d probably be into model trains, too, if I had more space, though I admit to having a pretty nice four-lane slot car track that I set up now and again. Hey, at least we’re not that guy building a 1:25 scale (40 foot!) model of the original Star Ship Enterprise. I’m betting he’s single!
