first step, try rebooting the Mac.

I don’t know why I don’t remember that. I have only been using Mac since 1984.

You may want to keep track of the things you launch for a bit, and if you notice the shortcut breaking again, check the last few things you’ve opened since it was last working, and see if any of them have configuration options for a global shortcut. These can take over other application shortcuts so long as the program is running. It may be something only showing in the status area in the top right of the screen, too.
