Richer Ebooks: Beneath the Ink Technology

Those who’re interested in making the ebooks a richer and more varied experience might want to check out an ebook-enhancement technology that works with most ebook platforms:

I’ve not tried it myself, but their explanations of what it does are interesting. I do wonder how it works underneath.

If anyone has experience with creating or reading a ‘Beneath the Ink’ ebook, let us hear.

P.S. This from their FAQ bothers me:

It suggests that if you use their technology and don’t publish through them, you’ll have to send them regular royalty checks for their “revenue share.” That can become a nuisance. For me, it’s a kill-my-interest demand.

That said, some may find what it offers worth that restriction. In my case, InDesign can already do, in other ways, what their technology does and doesn’t require any royalties.
