Right Indent Issue

Hi, I’m trying to format some block quotes in Scrivener (3.1.6.0 (2862669) 64-bit - 02 Sep 2025) and I’m running into issues with indenting the right side unless the indent is greater than 1.5 inches. I can indent to anything past that, down to a single character of text running across the left margin of like, 500 pages, but the actual 0.5inch indent I’m looking for seems inaccessible. I’ve tried opening a few stock templates, and the same issue persists.

Has anyone had any experience with a similar issue?

The right indent is actually calculated fron the left side of the page.
That is because there is no page in Scrivener, only a top and a left side.

Calculate or visualize how wide you want your block quote to be. Add this to your current left indent, and set the sum as your right margin/indent.

Left indent = 2"
Block quote = 4"
→ Right indent at 6" (Not 2.5" from the right side of a 8.5x11 letter sheet.)

How do I Retain Right Margin in Compile?

Here’s why : In a standard WYSIWYG text editor, your left and right indents/margins are thought like this : [image] One on the left, one on the right. But in Scrivener, the page is infinite. So there is no right side to be relative to. (The “page” has a top and a left side, that’s it.) Worked like a charm, thanks! Not sure why that ruler right margin triangle even exists, but my problem is solved via format, paragraph, tabs and indents, right=5.5~6.0ish

It is the same as entering a value in the dialog box.

You can see the value it displays decreasing when moved to the left, not increasing as it would in a wysiwyg app.
