The aspell file fix worked for me too, running on Windows XP version 5.1 SP3
For those of us who have managed to start Scrivener 1.2.3 by replacing the aspell-15.dll with a different version I would just like to inform you that I tried installing aspell from aspell.net/win32/
Then if you go under “program files/Aspell/bin” you will find the aspell-15.dll file that is the exact same size as the one that was installed with scrivener. I used this file and that also seemed to work.
At least we have a file that is the same size and from the latest aspell…
In case anyone wonders, the fix also works with the runtime configuration bug appearing in Windows 8 Release Preview (although it didn’t seem to say it would work with Windows 8 ).
