I just upgraded my v2 MacGourmet Deluxe to v3 and the upgrade was half price, too. I use MacGourmet constantly and am very happy with it. I tried Story Mill (got it in a software bundle) and while the developer seems a good guy, Scrivener beats the pants off the competition.
MacJournal is another fine piece of software that i use often.
I was lucky, when I first came to the Mac about 3 years ago there were a lot of great software bundles that gave me an opportunity to try some wonderful software but Scrivener was the first thing I bought. It was the reason I bought a Mac, after all.
