This is probably staring me right in the face, but double-damned if I can figure it out.
There are certain fonts used in the Scrivener that I would very much like to have intact when the work is exported to eBook format. I’ve looked through everything obvious, at least obvious to me, and cannot figure this one out.
Is there an easy way to preserve the fonts? Or am I looking for something that, for whatever reason, we can’t do yet??
No, fonts aren’t embedded in e-book formats. e-Readers are generally designed so that the user can choose whatever font they want to read their books, just as they can choose the text size. It is possible to embed fonts in .epub and .mobi files, but it’s not common and Scrivener doesn’t support it. If you were to embed a font you would need to own the rights to the font, which for popular fonts could set you back a few thousand dollars.
