Scaling of the app elements broken

Recently, my installation of Scrivener has proper scaling. The Binder and everything are wildly out of scale, and when I select a menu from the top, the drop-down is elsewhere on the monitor.

I don’t know what I could have possibly done to cause this.

I have three monitors, and Scrivener always opens to my laptop monitor, even when I move it to my large monitor and save and exit my work from the large monitor. When I drag it back down, the text becomes so tiny that it’s unreadable.

I found a post from 2015 about Adobe, but it was well beyond my ability to figure out and seemed like a waste of time. I tried downloading and reinstalling Scrivener, but that didn’t fix it either.

Can anyone explain how this can be fixed? The program is barely usable as it now stands.

I’m using Version: 3.1.6.0 (2862669) 64-bit - 02 Sep 2025.

Thank you,
Ernie

On Windows, when you have monitors of disparate resolutions, switch screens by:

  1. Maximising the Scrivener window.

  2. Switch screens using Win+Shift+Left or Right Arrow, depending on where your screens are set up.

  3. The only thing that doesn’t render correctly is the dropdown menu arrows, which are either noticeably larger or very tiny, depending on whether you’re switching to a higher or lower-resolution display.

Dragging won’t give you the same effect, because you can’t drag a maximised window. It “loses” its maximisation when you start dragging.
