Scapple 1.5.3 for macOS Released

Scapple 1.5.3 is now available on our site and on the Mac App Store.

This update fixes a crash that was discovered as a result of optimisations that were attempted in 1.5.2. It is a recommended update for all users running 1.5 or greater.

Bug Fixes

  • Reverted optimisations made to note dragging, as they were found to cause sporadic crashing when clicking on notes.

  • Fixed bug whereby adding a note onto a connector by double-clicking on the line could cause other connectors to lose their arrow status, reverting to regular connections.

Updating Scapple

To update your copy, follow the instructions below, depending on whether you purchased Scapple directly from us or from the Mac App Store. If you have any problems, please email us at scapple@literatureandlatte.com for further assistance.

Direct-sale version

Either:

  • Use the Scapple â–¸ Check for Updates... menu within Scapple itself and follow the on-screen instructions.

  • Go to the main download page and click on the red “Download” button beneath “macOS” to download and re-install Scapple.

    Use this method if you have any problems using the automatic updater, or if Scapple refuses to run after updating.

Mac App Store

Instructions...

  1. Open up the Mac App Store.

  2. Click on the “Updates” button in the sidebar.

  3. You should see Scapple listed with an “UPDATE” button next to it—click on the “UPDATE” button.
