I just updated to Sequoia 15.2 on a 2023 Mac mini with an M2 Pro. Scapple won’t work. As soon as I try to start a new file, it “unexpectedly quits”. It won’t display any existing files either.
Which version of Scapple do you have? I’m running Scapple 1.4.2 on a M2Pro Mac Mini with MacOS 15.2… no problems here with new file or opening an existing one.

I am on version 1.4.2 (8459). I checked for updates and it says I’m up to date.
I’d do the following:
- Shut down the computer, wait a few moments then reboot, to see if that clears it.
- If you’ve already done that and it hasn’t helped, I’d run Onyx > Maintenance (Free download and install… worth having around, if you haven’t got it already; does a lot of system cleaning up) which will shut down the computer and restart when it’s done its stuff.
- If still no joy, I’d go to Library > Preferences, find
com.literatureandlatte.scapple.plist
and drag it to the desktop. Then open Scapple, which will create a new default preference file. If it opens and works, just go through the preferences re-setting them to what you had before. - If it still doesn’t work, I’d re-install from a new download (clear your browser cache first!); if that works, either reset the preferences as in 3, or swap the new preferences file for the one you have moved onto your desktop.
That’s been my order of working on the rare occasions when I’ve encountered a problem like yours. Hope it helps, but maybe others have different suggestions.

I don’t know if Scapple responds to this, but some apps, when launched while pressing the shift key will not open any previously open files. Could be that this previously open file is corrupted or something. I’d try that with Scapple as a first try. May not work. Dunno.
Unfortunately, none of these have worked. I submitted a bug report
