I need help. I dragged a Scene file over another Scene file inside of a Chapter folder and I lost the work in both Scenes. I can’t find it anywhere. I thought you could move Scenes around in the same chapter.
Is my work lost ?

My experience has been you can basically move material all around your file however you want, with few exceptions. I doubt you’ve lost anything, just ‘misplaced it’. Try doing a project wide search for a string of text from the scene you moved, it’ll probably turn up somewhere weird. If you find drag and drop is causing odd results for you, put the movement arrows on the toolbar (i.e. customise toolbar), I find the arrows tend to be more precise…though it’s matter of personal preference. Hope this helps.
How do you do a project wide search?
I just found it. Thank you so much! For the time being, I just copied both texts into my stash of notes I keep in Microsoft Word. You’re a lifesaver!
The other way to search for recent files is using modified date search.
Open Project Search and left click on the spy glass. Click modified date.
mdate:>2d will reveal all files modified in the last 2 days. (change the number as needed)
Thanks for writing this tip. Had no idea scriv could do that. Super useful for day to day use.
