Has anyone seen any notice that Scrivener 3.0 would incorporate ProWritingAid plug-in (or similar) functionality?
No, but I seem to remember having seen a post stating the opposite. 
I have been using Scrivener for yonks. That’s a long time. I have tried requesting the type of checking found in the Hemingway editor and ProWritingAid to the Scriveners but alas no joy. I recently road tested ProWriting Aid to find it can read the same database as Scrivener. So you can write delights using Scrivener. Then switch to ProWritingAid for editing which will continue on using the same pool of data. It just means you are using 2 separate tools. For me, it seems to work. Enjoy.

It looks like a very simple API to submit text to, the trick would be to process the result and effectively mark up the text.
I’d find it very useful. I think it’d be significant feather in their cap.

While the web API itself may be straightforward, it is anything but straightforward to write the code that invokes that web API, handing errors elegantly, and incorporating that into a rich text system, providing the UI elements necessary to report what is returned to the user. And once implemented, it then requires maintenance in the future, and there are always more plugins and APIs that users want us to support. As a one-man team, I’m afraid that it is not entirely practical or sustainable. ProWritingAid remains on my list for further investigation in the future, but it is far from trivial to implement and opens up a can of worms for support and future compatibility.

Oh I get it! I’m in the same boat (twice accidentally). Of course it always comes down to where your time is spent most profitably. I guess I’d look at it in terms of what other projects I’d have to delay and how many copies I’d have to sell to cover the cost of ‘the developer’ be that me or not, to recoup the cost.
I added my $0.02 as I see ProWritingAid as a feature that’s not present in other apps - a differentiator that can help Scrivener stand above others… That and because writing this distracts me from constantly checking the App Store for Scrivener 3 despite plenty of proper work to be late on elsewhere in life.

Last summer I taught a class on Scrivener 2.0 at our summer writers conference here in Seattle. As I went through feature after feature after feature, there were literally “oohs” and “ahs” from the class, as if they were watching fireworks.
And that was 2.0! Scrivener is truly magical.
