Scrivener 3.1 will not start on my laptop after update today

I’ve got that problem too.

Same here, and I’m kicking myself because I don’t usually go for day 1, hour 1 updates on anything because of things like this. On this occasion I thought ‘it’s Scrivener, I’m good’… Lesson learned again.

Okay, the updater may be fixed at this point. It looked to be a simple configuration error in which files were getting downloaded for it, rather than a problem with the update itself.

Give it a try, and let me know if you run into any issues with it.

Just tried the updater again, per your reply, and it does indeed seem to be working perfectly now. Thanks for the quick fix, and for keeping us posted. :slight_smile:

I downloaded from that link and 3.1 just crashes every time I try to run it, creating a minidump file.

You should probably contact tech support then, so they can take a better look at the specific scenario you’re seeing.

It’s been days since I sent my report to tech support. Do you know what their turnaround is?

I believe this is related to Scrivener 3 trying to pull in my templates from my old version. I think I was using KM Weiland’s and one called No Nonsense. Just a guess, but I’d like some help from support since NaNoWriMo starts in two days.

I can confirm that removing the .scrivtemplate file that was in c:\users\me\AppData\Local\LiteratureAndLatte\Scrivener\ProjectTemplates allows Scrivener 3.1 to run. Please let support/development know so they can fix this.
