Scrivener 3.3.6 keeps crashing mid-typing on MacOS Venture 14.3

Given that the crash trace references KBLineNumberingRulerView, I would definitely try turning that feature off, with View ▸ Text Editing ▸ Hide|Show Line Numbers.

Well, I just turned all the Correction settings on again, and it crashed after typing a few words again. So it certainly is in this area.

And you’re not listening - I’ve said a few times already that this appears to be interaction between Scrivener and Apple’s spell-checking behavior.

I’m going to upgrade my OS to the latest (it’s already pretty close to it, but it won’t hurt), and I’m looking at the Services settings where Scrivener interacts with the MacOS to see if it’s something like a firewall-related idea that @Vincent_Vincent mentioned. I don’t use anti-virus software, but it may be something with permissions sort of like that.

Update: upgraded to MacOS 14.4.1 (latest) and no crashes after a page of writing so far! Apple may have fixed their spelling/suggesting bug.
