Scrivener adds a page number to the page following a page break despite the option being activated

Hi everyone,

First of all, I’m sorry if I’m not using exactly the right terms, but I’m using the application in French.

I’m writing a thesis and writing standards require that single pages and pages following a page break should not have a page number (for example, the first page of the table of abbreviations, the first page of a chapter…).

I therefore activated the ‘different header and footer on pages following a page break’ option and the ‘no header or footer on single pages and blank pages’ option in the compilation parameters. This seems to work well for my chapters and the body of my thesis in general, but not for my front matter.

My front matter is composed as follows :

  • Warning
  • Dedication
  • Epigraph
  • Image
  • Acknowledgements
  • Summary
  • Table of abbreviations

And here are my section types:

  • “Front matter (1)” for Warning until Image
  • “Front matter (2)” for Acknowledgements until Table of abbreviations
They’re the same, I’ve just added five lines at the top of the page for the first section type.

And at last my parameters for the separators:
Separator before sections: page break
Separator between sections: page break

I’ve also activated the options to always start the section and the next section on a recto page in the section layouts.

After compilation, I end up with page numbers on the pages where the “Image” and “Acknowledgements” are, which are not only single pages but also pages after a page break. And also page numbers as well as on all the pages of the table of abbreviations, whereas there shouldn’t be any on the first page in theory.

Have I configured the compilation parameters incorrectly?

Please do not hesitate to tell me should you require any further information.

Thank you in advance,

Best regards.
