Does anyone know where I can get, or how I can make, an app logo for Gnome DE? I grabbed a PNG file off the internet, and it’s not what I think of as pretty. Any suggestions?

If you’re looking for the current S in a circle, there are icon files in the Scrivener folder. Mine are in home/games/scrivener-3 – I did a search there for .png and used one of them for the icon on Lutris (there are several; I picked one at random to copy & paste somewhere easier to find).
How did you change your icon outside of Lutris? I’m running Zorin with a Gnome DE and haven’t yet figured out how to add a custom icon to a program that shows up with the default generic gear.
If you have it installed, then you should be able to find the .ico file in the ‘resources’ installation subfolder. For Scrivener 3, it is the file called ‘icon.ico’. But if you want the older v1 icon depicted above, I can poke around and see where we have that archived.

[edit] I should have searched it. It’s 128x128. I grabbed one of the two PNG’s from that directory, and the icon looks great. Huzzah!
