Scrivener + Apple ePub error. How to fix?

Hi. I exported a book from Scrivener to ePub 3, and now am trying to upload it to the Apple bookstore using iTunes Producer. When I attempt the upload, I get the cryptic error list below. Does anyone know what this error is and how to fix it?

FYI I have uploaded the same book previously (albeit a couple years ago) without any error. This time, I made a few wording changes to the book, re-exported the book to ePub 3, then attempted the upload to Apple. And now I get the error.

APPLE ITUNES PRODUCER ERROR
ERROR ITMS-9000: “LO2E.epub: OPS/body.×html(6): [SC-005] Error while parsing file: A document must not contain both a meta element in encoding declaration state (http-equiv=‘content-type’) and a meta element with the charset attribute present… This error occurs 18 times. (For more information refer to https://help.apple.com/itc/booksassetguide)” at Book/BookAssets

ERROR ITMS-9000: "LO2E.epub: OPS/body13.xhtml (71): [RSC-005] Error while parsing file: element “¡i” not allowed here; expected the element end-tag, text, element “a”, “abbr” “area”, “audio”, “b” “bdi”, “canvas” “cite” “code” “data” “datalist” “del” “dfn” “em” “embed”

Solved. I noticed that the “Optimize for Kindle conversion” tick box was checked in the Compile options. After unticking it and recompiling, the upload worked fine.

Thank you!! I was having this problem and was about to give up. Did one last search and this post came up. Such an easy fix. Thank you.
