Lately, Scrivener freezes up on me and the blinking text cursor just vanishes. When this happens, I can’t type anything. Sometimes, if I wait, the cursor comes back, but other times I have to close and reopen Scrivener to get it working again. Usually, I have just Scrivener and a web browser open, either Google Chrome or Safari or both.
I’m not sure if there are any log files that might help figure out what’s going on.
I run Sonoma 14.2.1 and Scrivener 3.3.6.
My hunch it is Apple’s Sonoma. Your version out of date. I believe 14.5 is current version. Have no idea if updating will fix but if it were me I would try. I am still avoiding Sonoma.
I am not an eager updater either. Usually, I procrastinate as much as I can. Anyway, I’ve just updated to the latest version. Let’s see if it happens again.
In Sonoma I’ve had regular instances of the cursor disappearing in multiple apps.
And now? I believe it’s the latest OS.
I’m in the developer beta for Sequoia. Haven’t seen it crop up yet, but haven’t had the opportunity ti give it a solid workout - too many other things happening.
