My Scrivener has started running slow and a bit erratic. Just wondering whether anyone else is having an issue?
I am running OS 14.4 - so not sure if it has anything to do with the latest mac update, an issue with Dropbox or just my laptop. Or the program itself is showing a bug.
I only open one project at a time - so I don’t think it has anything to do with the size of the project. The present one is a “dump” project where I jot thoughts, plans, ideas, correspondence. Does have some photos in it but doesn’t seem a large project.
Normally the program runs quite snappy but in the last week is exhibiting the coloured wait wheel when typing ( a second or two - but enough to break your work flow). Im on a M1 MacBook pro.
Anyone else having odd behaviour this week ?
I just switched from an 11-year-old MacBook Pro (running Monterrey) to a 5-year-old one (with 16GB of RAM vs. 8) and Scrivener is MUCH slower now. I separated the chapter I’m working on to see if that made a difference, but nothing. I get the spinning beach ball all of the time just by clicking the cursor in a different place, or doing nothing at all. I’m using Mac OS Sonoma now. All of the images are low-res JPGs, and there aren’t that many of them. This is really a problem for me.
Welcome to the forum.
Sonoma is not known to be bug free. Do you have the latest version of both Scrivener and Sonoma? Does Activity Monitor show other processes running? Sufficient free disk space to enable the computer to work efficiently?
