Settings/Behaviors/Files & Folders/Always Set Title of New Items?

What does this do? When I set or unset, doesn’t seem to be changing any behavior regarding the binder or new items in the binder. What am I missing?

PS: Why is this topic grayed out here the Forum? My last topic as well?

It aged prematurely.

Regarding your title question: That only works for me when not in Scrivenings mode. Unsure if this is a bug or intentional.

The manual lists some exceptions when it’s not supposed to work, but those don’t seem to apply in my case:

This setting will cause Scrivener to move your cursor into the binder when you create a new item, so that you can type in a name for it right then and there. If the item cannot be displayed in the binder, whether because it is closed or the sidebar isn’t showing the location where it appeared, then normal default behaviour will be used.

(B.4.5 Folders & Files, p. 795)

ADD: Maybe the intention is to not mess with your currently loaded Scrivenings documents, which would happen if a single (new) document is auto-selected in the Binder. (If that’s the case, IMHO it should be mentioned in the manual to avoid confusion. @AmberV )

A topic is grayed out to indicate whether it has been read. Your own threads will usually be marked as read (for you) until someone else posts in them.

It doe a whole host of things, I reckon. One per selection, eh?

I can’t see how you’ve answered my question.

Thank you. Please elaborate.

Thanks for the note on the documentation. I’ll have a look at this and make sure it still all matches current behaviour.
