Should I update my iPhone to 26.01 now or wait for further bug fixes

Has anybody on here already updated, and if so, what’s the verdict? I don’t do any productive work on my iPhone; WhatsApp, Messages, phone calls, quick checks using DuckDuckGo or Brave browsers, if I’m out and about and have to fill in time I might check this forum and another on Discord or read with Kobo or Books. I use it for ApplePay and banking too, but that’s about it.

I think im going to have to get a new iPad, as this Generation 6, won’t upgrade beyond 17.x.x.

On my iPhone and iPad been on 26.0.1 since shortly after release. Noticed no issues so far. Surely things lurking but not bothered. I upgraded from a previous generation (15?) and had to get used to a few changes to Safari.

Edit. I turned off Liquid Glass soon after first startup.

Thanks. Good to know. I hardly ever use Safari; I never really got on with it (or with Firefox!).

I’ll give it a go when I’m back home… see if anyone else comes in with a “Don’t do it yet”.

I am holding off upgrading the Macbook.

Yes, I am holding off upgrading both my Macs. But I’m currently wondering about trading in or finding a buyer for my MBA (2020, M1, 1TB SSID), and putting the money towards an 11” iPad Pro + keyboard. I haven’t been taking the MBA around with me recently so that’s an option.

I sold my iMac and now have one Mac. For me a good move. Simpler.

A new iPad will come with the new iOS version. I appreciate the Macbook/iPad combination.

I’ve generally been fine on 26. I will say that if you use the mobile Scrivener application, I would wait on updating. We haven’t released our compatibility update for mobile yet and there are some annoying issues with menus at the moment.

Thanks Jen. No I don’t use Scrivener on either my iPhone or iPad. I did buy it and have it installed on my iPad, but, truth to tell, I tried it out but didn’t really get on with it and as I always had my MBA with me, I didn’t need it.

However, if I end up trading in/selling the MBA to buy a new iPad Pro, then I might be using it from time to time. When I’m at home I use the Mac Mini with its Studio monitor.

But I’ve gone ahead and upgraded my phone. No real problems so far!

Disastrous in the Discourse app. Cursor two or more lines below insertion point! I’ve taken a screenshot, but as I’m away from home and don’t have my MBA with me, I can’t seem to add a screenshot through the Discourse app, so I’ll do that later (as well as trying to report the bug to the Discourse people!

I am not seeing that but then I am not using the Discourse App.

Does it work better if you turn off Liquid Glass (as I did)?

I’ve reduced transparency to see if that helps. I’m not sure quite at what point in what I was writing it happened, but I’ll keep an eye open in case it happens again.
