I’d not seen this listed, but apologies if it is, under a different description.
Since 029 I’ve noticed significant slowdown whilst typing, the text on screen much slower than I type. I have to stop typing to let it catch up. if I type too fast, it loses the most recent words.
I never had this problem in 026 and now I’m seeing it both using my netbook and my desktop PC.
Thanks for the reports. Could I grab a little more information? This is Lee’s list for performance-related reports–answers to any of the following would help as he works to optimize the code. Thanks!
State exactly what you were doing when the performance issue occurred.
Approximately how many documents, folders, and words does your entire project contain? If you’re working in a single editor at the time, please provide a word count for the specific editor document as well.
When did you last re-boot Scrivener (i.e. full close and open)? This could be important information if a trend occurs here.
What sort of machine are you running Scrivener on (i.e. Operating System, type and speed of processor and RAM size)?
OPTIONAL: Anything else that might give us clues i.e. for the technically minded Windows Task Manager Performance specs/spikes when performing specific tasks in Scrivener. Also, any details regarding any auto-correction, substitution features you may have enabled or analysis of those features turned on and then off and the resultant performance change if any.

Opened the software, the right chapter scrolled to the place to edit & began editing. The slowdown is apparent from the start.

Around 40 - it’s a newish project. 15,500 words for the whole project. The specific chapter was 1,500.

I close and reopen it regularly. The slowdown occurs when freshly opened.

I noticed this morning about 30 untitled documents had appeared underneath my current chapters. I hadn’t created them nor were they there when I shut down (I think!)
