One guy in the audience interrupts him and says: “I don’t quite understand this concept of space consciousness”. Tolle is quiet for a while and then says: “Of course you don’t understand”. Giggling is heard from the audience. More silence from Tolle, this time for quite a while, and then he says: “Do you think that I understand it?”. Laughter from the audience. Now, Tolle is dead serious when he says that, because space consciousness is another word for Tao and you can’t understand it with your mind. The only way to get it is to go beyond the mind, and that is awareness not understanding.
