Hello,
When I compile, I have text that comes after the title. I would like this text to to be flush with the title on compile. I do not type the title manually, Scrivener handles that. I also find that there is an unwanted blank line between the compiled documents on export. It looks like this:
First Doc 9.13.20
dedication
ltesty test llorem lorm loremtesty test
Second Doc 9.13.20
the thing that is the thing is not the thing
Where arrowing from “First Doc 9.13.20” to “dedication” seems to have a line spacing of 2, as does the spacing between compiled documents.
On output, I want:
First Doc 9.13.20
dedication
ltesty test llorem lorm loremtesty test
Second Doc 9.13.20
the thing that is the thing is not the thing
Third Doc 9.13.20
I have looked at changing the separators with no success. What should I change?
Thanks,
J
In the attachment, notice the Title checkbox is inactive, but <$title> is included in the title Suffix. I have chapter numbering and you can ignore {<$label>} (advanced topic).
Scrivener Compiles the Prefix, the Title (if the checkbox is active), and the Suffix in that order. If you only need the title, you can (1) use the checkbox, (2) place <$title> in the Prefix or Suffix in Title Options, or (3) do the same thing in the Prefix or Suffix tab. The Formatting tab lets you click in the prefix, title, or suffix and format that paragraph using the format bar. Same with option 3, but format it in the Prefix or Suffix pane.
With option 2 or 3, you get to decide if there’s paragraph break after each element — notice the pilcrows (¶). The blank line you don’t want may be due to one of these, OR it’s spacing after the title paragraph. Either way, you can fix it.
HTH!
