Speech settings

Hello I’m new to the world of writing, my typing is horrible and I rely on “speechnotes” to dictate and scrivener speech to review. when i played with the settings it stopped working. I don’t want to bounce back and forth to “Word” for review. please help

Speech not working

We’ve had a few help tickets with this issue. Please download and unzip the attached qtexttospeech_winrt.zip file: qtexttospeech_winrt.zip (26.0 KB) Then, with Scrivener closed on your PC, please move the qtexttospeech_winrt.dll file into the “texttospeech” folder in the Scrivener installation folder. On most PC’s, the default installation location for Scrivener is at C:\Program Files\Scrivener3\texttospeech\. You can drop this file into that folder while Scrivener is closed and on relaunch…

This (TTS) is from the OS, not from Scrivener. Scrivener only bridges to it.

Yes. If you have M365 installed. The downside if you’d need to access it in a Word compile of your Scrivener work. These more natural-sounding speaking voices are not accessible in Scrivener.

You can play with pitch and speed in Scrivener. you must stop, adjust settings then hit speak and play with rate and pitch to get what you need, not perfect or as good as AI, but might by adjusting get closer to what you want.
