Hello,
I’ve been working on some new documents lately and have noticed some strange spelling behaviors when working in Scrivener with WordWeb, a separate dictionary app. I think this has been happening for a long time, it has just really started to become bothersome to me. The behavior I am seeing is:
-
If I left click on the word before performing a lookup, it often sees the curser as an extra character when using the hotkey lookup function. For example, ‘difficult’ gets picked up as ‘diflficult’ if the curser is currently positioned between the two 'f’s. It seems where the mouse pointer is situated when the hotkey is invoked (before or after the blinking curser) can sometimes affect this. The problem is frequent, but not 100% of the time.
-
If the Word is underlined as misspelled, it picks up the word as being garbled. This seems much more consistent.
If I copy and past the text from Scrivener to Word or Wordpad, the problems go away and the dictionary lookup works perfectly. This behavior is pretty consistent and only happens within Scrivener. I can provide and screenshots or other files that might help if needed.
