Spellcheck workarounds

Spellcheck has stopped working. Like at least one other poster, when I click on ‘check spelling and grammar’ the box that pops up is empty. I gather from the response to that other poster that this is a problem Apple has created, so no fix is in sight. My question is therefore: how can I spell check my work? The only thing I can think of is pasting my document into Word, checking it there, then finding all the relevant places in my Scrivener documents and making the corrections. As I have over 100 documents in my current project, and over 100,000 words, this idea fills me with dread.

Does anyone have a workaround? Thank you so much.

Sonoma 14.2.1, Scrivener 3.4

ProWritingAId?
Antidote too, integrates seamlessly under Mac.
. . . . . . . . .

(I don’t really know any free of charge solutions, though.)

Thanks, Vincent. I’ve taken a look at your suggestions. ProWritingAid seems to be an alternative to Scrivener, is that right? I’m not keen to ditch Scriv as I’ve been using it for nearly 15 years and like it. And from what I’ve read about Antidote I would have to use it as I would Word—import the text, find the errors there and fix them individually in Scriv. From what I’ve read, I’m not sure either program would be a helpful workaround. Am I missing something?

Antidote is supposed to integrate into Scrivener under Mac.
(I love it, btw. I use it all the time.)

ProWritingAid I never used, but unless I am mistaken, from what I got to read about it here, it integrates too.

That’s about all you can get from me. (Windows user.)

Not an alternative, it is a grammar and spell checker that works with Scrivener.

As for Spell-check not working, I don’t know what the issue is.

I’m running 15.5 and 3.4 and works just fine. Also works on 26.0 and 3.4

Did you try restarting your computer? Sometimes that can reset things.
If so and that didn’t fix it, can you upgrade your OS? I am using Sequoia (15.6) and not have a problem.
You also could try reinstall Scrivener and see if that fixes it.
