Spelling error red lines

Hi All

This is such a simple thing but I really can’t work out how to fix it. How do I turn off the Red Squiggly spelling error lines?

I’m doing NaNoWriMo but my perfectionism is making me want to go back and fix everything!

You can turn it off with

Edit > Spelling and Grammar > Check Spelling as you Type

My hat is off to you, wise and prudent alluppercase. My suggestion for when you do run a spell-check; take a snapshot first. Sometimes seeing the mangled train wreck of a typo can readily lead you to the word you had intended to write weeks earlier, but only if you don’t replace it with the wrong word.

Thanks Robert D Guthrie! I think it will be the best way through for me… And I will be sure to take a snapshot prior to any edits =)

Brookter - I have already tried that and yet it still keeps squiggly lining everything for me. Any other suggestions?

Sorry, no – toggling Edit > Spelling and Grammar > Check Spelling while Typing gets rid of the lines for me and I don’t know of any other method.

Can I suggest you test whether this works in TextEdit? If it does then it’s more likely to be a Scrivener bug that needs investigating?
