As a writer whose characters talk like real people, I’m constantly dropping the g from -ing and replacing it with an apostrophe, somethin’ like this. It would be nice if there were a preference setting in the spell checker to ”Accept in’ in place of ing.” Maybe even a sub-selection to specify “only inside of quotation marks” but I don’t want to be greedy. 
Just a thought, I’ll go lay down by my dish now.
