The strange thing about splitting pages in Scrivener is that whatever I write in one page appears in the other! How can I avoid that and make two different pages in one editor?
Hi.
There is no “page(s)” in Scrivener’s editor.
What you are actually seeing is two editors showing the same document. → That is why what you do in one editor is shown in the second one.
Having two editors is useful to compare two documents, or drag and drop from one document to another, or from the top of a document to the bottom of that same document, for e.g…
Pages are only determined at the compile stage.
For now, just use a new document in the binder per chapter / sub-chapter.
→ If you want to have an idea of where your pages end, you can use page view, but be aware that your overall formatting will most likely change at the compile phase.

As a follow on to @Vincent_Vincent’s thorough reply, I suggest you have a look at the Interactive Tutorial (Help > Interactive Tutorial).
At the very least, go through sections *** Get Oriented *** and *** Get Organized ***, which will give you all the background your likely to need on Scrivener’s organizational and editing capabilities–including splitting the editor.
But if you can make the time, it would be well worth your while to at least skim the entire *** The Basics *** section. You’ll be introduced to all of Scrivener’s primary features, and in the long run this will save you hours of wasted time and frustration trying to figure out on your own what the tutorial is designed to spoon-feed you.
