Splitting lines into files

is there a way to convert a text into a folder? say, I have a text but then realize that it needs to have multiple parts, is there a way to convert the text so that it can hold multiple texts inside of it?

That’s no problem. What I would do is go ahead and start splitting out the text into individual documents. The Document/Split/at Selection tool comes in really handy, here. As you do so, you can just nest those items beneath the original. Note that text style documents can hold subdocuments just like folders. You probably don’t need or want that right now—but its something to keep in mind. Scrivener’s outliner is more like an actual outliner and less like a file system like Finder. Anyway, now that you have the text moved out, right-click on the item and select “Convert to Folder”.

You can store text in a folder as well, but until you are done splitting things out its easier to leave it a text file as folders automatically select a group view when you click on them.

Thank you.
