Is there a way to replace the synopsis on the of the note cards with the beginning of the document in the cork board view? What about in the outline view? Well other than just a lot of manual copy/paste, of course.
Is this going to be a feature in Scrivener 3? The note card matches the start of the document in the screenshot, but that doesn’t mean much.
If not, I want to suggest it as a feature. It helps my writing to work that way.
I’ve similarly requested the wrapped title of the document as an option in the body of the notecard. It’s an attractive and useful control; some more data choices for it would be grand. Remember though that we can update the synopsis, whereas alternative notecard views would have to be read only.
Have you tried the Documents > Autogenerate Synopsis command? (On the Mac version 2 at least.)
I don’t have v2 to hand, so can’t try it, but I think that will take some of the text from the document and use it for the synopsis – you’ll have to test what it does with existing test, and whether it works for multiple selections though.
BTW just to be clear: the synopsis is the synopsis is the synopsis - it’s always the same for any specific document, irrespective of the view (Inspector, Outline, Corkboard).
Yes, of course. Like when you look at a tree through different windows of your house, it’s the same tree each time. I was just thinking it might be easier to offer the start of the document in the outline view because it already can be customized so darn much (when you right click and turn columns on and off), well at least on the UI end (programming wise, I have no clue). Though I would want the start of the document to go under the title (like the synopsis does now) instead of being a separate column.
