Style-specific word count

I’m working on scripts for a small film project, and I’ve devised a method that works for me—it would include both the voiceover copy and scene/shot instructions. I’d be putting the voiceover copy in a specific style (let’s call it “VO”) and any other text in a different style. I’d like to get a word count only on the VO style, while ignoring any other text on the page(s). Is this possible?

You can’t do it in the Scrivener Editor, but you can in the Compiled output. There’s an option to exclude text of a specific style from the output, then you can get a word count of the resulting document. See Section 24.5.3 in the manual.

I see, ok. I was hoping to be able to glance down and see what my word count is on an ongoing basis. This is still helpful though, I appreciate it.
