Sync Feature in 2.0

As of now, the sync feature in 2.0 can save in txt and rtf format, but it would be really helpful if it could also save in doc format. I use it to sync up to my Docs On The Go folder for my iPod Touch, and DOTG only recognizes doc files.

The trouble with this is that Scrivener’s .doc format is RTF-based anyway, and Docs to Go won’t read that. If Scrivener exports to true .doc format using the standard Apple exporters and importers, it will lose all comments, footnotes, annotations, line spacing and indents, because of limitations with Apple’s standard .doc and .docx importers and exporters, which would lead to many bug reports and users losing lots of formatting. (And I don’t have the resources to write my own .doc and .docx translators.) So, this is the reason for the limitation - I’d love to provide .doc or .docx sync, but it just wouldn’t work well because of this.

All the best,
Keith
