I would like to sync my writing with Evernote (providing my co-writer access to some chapters).

Meanwhile, take a look at the File/Sync/with External Folder… menu command. It just works with basic old folders and files, and thus can be used for collaboration in a variety of fashions, from sending a zipped up copy of the sync folder via e-mail, to sharing the files live on a service like iCloud or Dropbox.
