Syncing from ISO to Mac Laptop : No binder.scrivproj could be found

Hey everyone,

For a long time I’ve been just working on my Ipad with Scrivener- but I want to finally sync with my laptop now that I’m not traveling as much.

I followed the tutorial video given by Literature & Latte to sync on my ISO Ipad… but when I try to open he synced filed on my laptop I get an error message that looks like this.

I’ve done some searching on the forms and seen this error talked about few times but never for this issue. I also see that my file names may not be right… and as the error message says I cant find binder.scrivproj anywhere.

I’m running Scrivener 2.7 from 2016 on my Macbook Air 13" and my Ipad Pro Scrivener is up to date running ISO 12.11,

Any help would be appreciated!

Update your Mac version to 2.9 or 3! The project format changed with the introduction of the iOS version, so the version for MacOS was updated to use the new format.

If you don’t want to pay the upgrade fee for version 3—I would absolutely recommend version 3 though—you can download v. 2.9 from literatureandlatte.com/scri … s?os=macOS

You have to scroll right down below all the release notes to find the earlier versions.

I’m having this same problem trying to read a Scrivener file on my mac. When I doubleclick on any *.scriv file in this dropbox folder on my harddrive, from Scrivener from my iphone i get the same error as shown above, looking for “binder.scrivproj”

iPhone X running Scrivener 1.2.1 (2096) on iOS 13.3
MacBook Air (13inch, Mid 2013) running Scrivener 3.1.5 (12258) on High Sierra 10.13.6

any suggestions?

Yea, no. That’s not it. On my Mac running Mojave, I tried with v2 and v3, and every single Scrivener file, including the Tutorial, reports the same error. In fact, every file including the that have never seen Dropbox. Every backup. EVERY file. And as for the elusive ‘binder’? Don’t find it anywhere.

help!?
