Syncing iPad to Mac and only contents of one folder within project are syncing?

I have a project set up with both my Mac and iPad. The project shows up in the folder list on my iPad and is set to sync to Dropbox, but when I close the app and go to open it on my MacBook, only the contents of one of the folders within the project are syncing - the folders I created on the iPad don’t show up in the Mac version at all.

The folder that IS syncing is called “synced documents” - and this is listed separately in the binder, as separate from the Manuscript. The Manuscript itself is not syncing at all.

How can I fix this so that the entire MS is syncing with my laptop? I did back up the iPad version to Files just in case something goes wrong - but I have no idea how to fix this sync issue.

Have you made sure that Dropbox is configured correctly to work as a sync service, on the Mac? Note that by default it doesn’t, it works more like a documents-on-demand tool where you don’t actually have possession of anything other than what you double-click on to load. This type of tool doesn’t work with software that requires multiple files and folders to function.

But see for files to be offline it works as expected, no? At least that is how Dropbox and Scrivener has and does work for me for years.
