Thanks for the crash report–sorry you ran into it, though! The “download dictionary” bug has been logged, so Lee’s working on that one, although I’ve never heard that it prevented Scrivener from re-opening after a crash. You could try logging out of your user account and back in or restarting Windows (two of my favorite computer fixes!), but if that doesn’t work you should be able to do a complete uninstall of Scrivener (after you run the uninstall, delete the entire “Scrivener” folder from Program Files–your actual projects should be stored elsewhere, e.g. in your Documents folder as by default, so they won’t be touched), and then reinstall the 023 beta to get it working again.
No problem. I’m just testing the version because I’m really interested about the soft. But I didn’t do any special work with it. Just testing. The bug stays even after restarted windows, so I’m downloading the Beta again
Thanks.
Just want to let you know, that Zack was not the only one who couldn´t open Scrivener after downloading a dictonary (German in my case). I closed Scivener after downloading and couldn´t re-open it then.
Done everything you MM suggested and so I got everything to work again.
Oh, and I forgot to say that I was on beta 24 in Windows 7.
Thanks for the update on this. I’m sorry you ran into the problem, but I’m glad you’ve got Scrivener working for now. It’s definitely on the bug list so Lee will get to it!
