**Text Formatting in Scrivener On iOS 26: ** **A Workaround**

If you’re using Scrivener on an iPhone and since Apple introduced iOS 26 your text won’t format properly, here’s how to get around it for the moment.

To Format New Text

  1. Copy a paragraph from another file that’s already how you want it, and paste it at the start of a new page.

  2. Move your cursor to the end of the last paragraph of your pasted text, and tap the space bar.

  3. Tap Return to bring you to the start of a new paragraph, and start writing. Your text should have the formatting you want.

  4. Delete the paragraph you used to set up formatting.

To Format Existing Text

  1. Scroll a few lines down the page to create some space above the text you want to format.

  2. Copy a paragraph from another file that’s already how you want it and paste it at the start of the new page, above the text you want to format.

  3. Move your cursor to the start of the text you want to format, then tap the back space key till your new text reaches the last line of your formatted text. Don’t leave more than one space between them.

  4. Now tap Return. The first paragraph of the text you want to format will change into the formatting you want.

  5. Repeat with all the other paragraphs.

  6. Delete the paragraph you used to set up formatting.

To Centre A Heading

If you already have a centred heading elsewhere in your work, copy it and paste it to wherever you need it, then over-write the text with your new heading.

To Sum Up

Yes, it’s an extra task. And its annoying. But it’s better than being stuck with formatting that isn’t what you want. And hopefully it won’t be for too long
