Hi Kev, at least you had something to insult, even if it was AI. I’d love to get my hands on the******* designers or whoever is responsible, then my insults would go much higher up the spectrum.

Hi, Many years ago I had both PageMaker, subsequently replaced with InDesign and also Quark Express. But they are out of my price range now. I do have the Affinity suite, which I really like, but I haven’t used Publisher for anything long and don’t know about any problems with PDF output.
I am trying out Scrivener > Pandoc > Quarto and Scrivener > (Pandoc) > Typst workflows for producing well laid-out PDFs. Sadly, I’ve had little time to pursue it since the beginning of the year, but I’ll get there… even though, fundamentally, the reason is to challenge my ageing brain as I have no immediate need for the output.
Golly, Letraset! I remember spending hours in the early 70s using it to design letterhead and other such things. Wouldn’t want to do it now; using a computer is so much easier.
