Title Bar Often Not Distinguishable

Sometimes there’s a thin line between the title bar and the background:

Most times there is none:

This is a small problem when moving or selecting notes near the top—I sometimes end up moving the window by mistake. I change the background color, but the title bar color changes to match it.

Is there a way to avoid this?

The first issue is part of how the new macOS works in some areas. You may note in various windows and views that sometimes there is a clearly defined header bar, other times only a thin line and sometimes nothing at all to separate content from header (sidebars, like in Finder, are a place where this can happen too). This is a design decision by Apple, Scapple is just following along. In this case, the logic depends on whether there is content scrolled up beyond the header—in that case you should see the thin line, otherwise if the scroll view is all the way to the top, it should look “seamless”. I agree, moving the window by mistake is probably an unanticipated flaw in their design, not much we can do about it though—you are clicking on the title bar, even if it is impossible to tell where it starts, that is still what you are doing.

So that explains why it changes colour when you change the background colour. It’s supposed to look like one surface.

Got it. Thanks.

I’ve got a kludgy workaround. See the note called “Fix Title Bar”?

I can zoom such that it is above the window border, resulting in a distinguishable title bar:
