Titles That Begin with Numbers Become Bullet Points

When compiling my manuscript, I would like to start certain titles and paragraphs with numbers. This works fine when compiling for PDF, but when I compile for eBook (epub) it changes the number to a bullet point. It does this whether I insert the file title as a Title during compile or if I include it in the body of the file itself as an H2, even if I’ve set the list style to none. Here’s an example:

7 Secrets of Cooking

becomes

  • Secrets of Cooking

in the eBook.

I’m not seeing anything like this with a few quick tests (including some that would be even more trigger happy, like 7. Secrets of Cooking, which is how a Markdown numbered list would be typed).

Firstly though, we probably aren’t working with the same variables at all, as I note in your profile you are listing 3.3.6 as your version of Scrivener, and that is very old. We have indeed fixed some bugs over the years relating to this (again Markdown is a factor because we use it to generate ebooks). So before trying anything else, I’d run software update check from the main Scrivener menu, and get yourself up to 3.5.2.
